Organized isn't something you are, it's something you do. I see so many of us get this wrong ALL THE TIME. In so many areas of our life we think who we are is defined by what we do.

Organized isn't something you are, it's something you do. I see so many of us get this wrong ALL THE TIME. In so many areas of our life we think who we are is defined by what we do.
Think about it, when you first meet someone and they ask, "So tell me about yourself", what's the first thing about 90% of us will respond with? "Well, I'm a ______ (mom, sales manager, yoga instructor....etc."
What you do, where you work, how you spend your time isn't who you are people!! It is something you do. Yes you may have chosen to spend your time that way because of who you are, but that doesn't mean the work you do is who you are.
“ What you do, where you work, how you spend your time isn't who you are people! It is something you do."
The same problem exists in the organizing world. Too often I have clients that think in order to "be" organized they have to change who they are. And who my friends, wants to do that?!
Even if we try to change who we are, eventually we will be so miserable and out of alignment with ourselves, we will give up and all too often think that we failed! When really we just weren't being true to ourselves.
When we realize organization isn't a part of who we are, it isn't personal, it is simply a choice we do or don't make, it becomes a WHOLE lot easier to consider changing to make that choice.
This is why you will never hear me say "be organized". I'm all about choosing to create a lifestyle that is organized; about making the choice to live organized.
"This is why you will never hear me say "be organized". I'm all about making the choice to live organized.
Don't worry though if the idea of being responsible for making the choice to live organized feels overwhelming, daunting, uncomfortable and hard. I promise you it's just new, and maybe hasn't always worked out in the past. But I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be that way!! It is possible for the choice to live organized to be an easy one to make. Stick around or reach out to me, I'd love to show you how.
Quick Start Tip: Everytime you are tempted to think some thing along the lines of..."I need to be more organized", "If only I was more organized", "I'm so terrible at organizing", stop and instead think "I'd like to experience more organization in my life", "I'm not as organized as I'd like yet", "I haven't figured out how to organize like I want yet".
